Ryder was heartworm positive when I adopted him. The treatment is expensive and intensive and I don't want to risk another HW+ result.
And I had a mild flea infestation back in September or so and was able to jump on it quickly and prevent it from turning into a MAJOR infestation. But I don't want to risk it. So he gets his Nexgard every month.
I don't blame you. At the first sign of a flea, I'd be freaking out. My dog takes Bravecto at $58. for 90 days. If I can fudge one quarter out of the year I will, but at flea sighting #1, I'm giving it. I'm in coastal GA, but up north we could go 6 months on and 6 months off.

Yupper. One flea sighting and on it goes. Once you've been infested you never want to be again!
Mine works for 30 days so I give it and then watch intensely after 30 days. ARE THEY GONE?
