These are the two new kids I pulled from the shelter. Both older kids, guessed to be in the five to seven year range. The female is red and white and the male is black and tan. The girl is named Trinity and we call her Trin. The male was named Cam by the shelter but we are calling him Chumley. He seriously needs a diet big time!!! She's on the thin side and came in with a lot of hair loss and some skin issues that we've been addressing. She also has a lot of tooth loss, which is common with chis.
My guess so far is Trin is long hair chi / Pap mix. For Chums I have guessed long hair chi / Peke mix. I'm not sure why I see Peke in him but for some reason I do. Anyone see anything else?
ETA: There are photos from when they came in and photos from after their baths, so that's the difference in the fur. Each has one wet and one dry picture.
Hi Mrs! I think you're right on with Trinity. Chunky Chumley (great name) almost looks like he could have a little Papillon in those ears too. Did they come in together? Nice to hear from you!
They came from the same shelter but they said they were picked up in different areas on different days. Doesn't mean they're NOT related or didn't come from the same place though. It's very rural and if there is a breeder there pumping them out it's entirely possible that the vast majority of anything that's long hair chi mixed could be related.
my guess is long hair Chi / Pap mix for both.. but the eyes, look like a Chin. I have a little guy and he's long hair chi / Japanese Chin.
