Just curious. My dachshund has stolen pizza off the coffee table from my brother and a sandwich from me. Oh and if some of you read my posts, she stole a milk chocolate hershey's bar while my mom was wrapping Christmas gifts!

Has anyone else's dog(s) stolen food from you before?

Oh yeah. One of my earlier posts was the day Shep stole 3 fried eggs off my table while I was upstairs getting the kids ready. Very slick too, never disturbed the dishware. He's also stolen a hunk of steak and last night stole a chunk of peach. Wasn't so thrilled by it though. Guess fruit isn't his thing

Years ago, we went to the movies and put our husky in the kitchen with the gate closed. I think it was hot outside so we kept her indoors. When we came home, I had made a peach pie the night before and it was on the counter. Somehow, she managed to get it off the counter and it was lying there--only the pie plate was inverted so she never got any of it. But, it was memorable.

We just got our dog, less than two weeks ago. She's 2 years old, so young, but not a puppy. She's already figured out which chair to sit near during dinner, to increase her chances of having things dropped for her. We don't let her beg at the table, if she gets too annoying we put her out in the yard while we eat.

The first time she was left home alone, she knocked over a box of Cap't Crunch cereal, and it spilled all over the floor. But she wouldn't eat it.

So far, no stolen food.

Never. We can put a pizza box, open, on the floor and PC wouldn't go near it unless we told him it was ok. We trained him very early on and he has never tried to touch anything that wasn't his.

PC and I eat breakfast in bed on the weekends sometimes and I will put my plate like 2 inches from his face, full of food. He will lay there until I say it's ok to eat it. A little training goes a long way!

No, not my dog. But her sister stole a whole chicken off of the table.

Rita has never taken food that isn't in her bowl or given to her. Finn on the other hand, is obsessed with food. He'd be in the fridge if he could open it. Once he ate a bag of red licorice when my husband left him alone in the truck.

Yes. Our dog has stolen food from the table and the counter. She'll behave herself as long as we're watching but the minute our back is turned - she goes for it.

My dogs are very trustworthy now, but one of them was a big counter-surfer when we first got her. The worst was the time she ate a whole bean burrito, with onions on it (Thankfully I hadn't put the salsa on it yet.) I was expecting her to get really sick, or at least leave me a nasty present in the back yard, but she was fine.

Mine is the same way - as long as I am watching she is the perfect little angel.
