She’s my younger sister. She’s 15 and easily over 200 pounds. There’s not a lot I can do because I’m a college freshman and don’t live at home, but it seems like every time I see her she’s gotten bigger. I don’t say anything because I don’t want to hurt her feelings or ruin her visit. My parents for some reason, do nothing.

What can I do or say?

I suspect the only 2 options for you are:

say/do nothing

Offer help/advice/assistance if she should ever want it

Well, you Could talk to your parents, ask them to stop enabling her with crap food. It's not like she's doing the grocery shopping....

She has to decide for herself, that she wants to do it, you can't do it for her. Maybe mention it ot her, & ask if she needs any help, or needs to be checked for certain medical conditions.

My dear niece was always overweight and she confided in me one time while I visited them, her mother sabatoged everything by having mega lbs of carbs/sugars in the house. Cookies, pies, ice creams, breads, pastas, pizza....

My sister clearly had her own sugar addiction but worked so hard and burned a lot of possible weight OFF.

You could talk to your parents but they may have the same issues as your sister.

I mean, like I said, I don’t say anything to her now because I don’t wanna potentially hurt her feelings or have her misconstrue my words as me calling her fat or something.

Did she ask for your help? If not, then stay out of it. Nagging her or criticizing her food might trigger further binge eating.

What you could do is when you're home, ask her to go with you on a hike or if your family has a dog, on a walk around the neighborhood to catch up. See if there are any 5K walks coming up in your area, and ask her if she wants to do one with you. Offer to cook dinner and make a healthy meal with her.

I’m at fault to an extent too because when she visits me on campus, we don’t go to the healthy places, it’s wings, pizza, burgers, etc

When you go home to visit, what does the fridge & pantry look like, what sort of food, are the parents cooking?
