Car thefts plummet 60 percent in Detroit

Down 20% compared to this time last year.

http://www.crainsdetroit.com/article...ent-in-detroit

It says Metro Detroit ranks 23rd in the nation for auto thefts, not sure how we rank on accidents. But our car insurance rates is extremely high. I hear some of the MI laws have alot to do with our car insurance rates as well. Can we catch a break on our auto insurance or will we continue to be robbed?

Duggan is too busy prepping his run for governor in the 2016 republican race.

Though he did say he was looking at some way of creating a Detroit insurance company?

Something could have been done at the state level a LONG time ago, but the state senate/house are spineless.

What people do not known is some insurance companies were engaging in dirty things on purpose to raise insurance cost in Detroit. They make their guys call police and lies saying "my car was stolen". People could make police report on the phone without being double checked. With those raw data, insurance companies put Detroit in a high risk brackets !

I think Duggan is a Democrat.

WTF!?!? why in the hell would they want to do that to their customers? They should be prosecuted and/or sued. Maybe even have their license taken away unless they lower everyone's rates. That sh*t is sick. And then they wonder why so many people in the city drive without insurance. Alot of outsiders on this forum think it's only a small minority dodging insurance companies but it's not. I know sooo many people who puts down false addresses and buy updated insurance stickers off the street. I got asked not too long ago if I needed an updated insurance sticker by some random dude. Their really shooting their own self in the foot.

You have to get Lansing to eliminate the lifetime cap on benefits. No other state has it.

Then, and only then, can we expect premiums to decline.

The rest is just pandering to the ignorant masses.

If you were injured in an auto accident you would feel differently.

Some injuries last a lifetime.

Replacement services and lost wages are three years.

Only medical is lifetime.......that does include attendant care.
