You like to create this city vs suburb divide like it's the Chicago metro or something. No surprises at all.

Because in the real world things are NOT black and white...there are shades of gray. Everyone else gets that. You obviously struggle with the concept.

It is a common disease in the Chicago area.

Most chains want nothing to do with the City of Chicago as the land and development costs are MUCH higher in the city than in the surrounding areas. Also, there is a level of governmental and political interference that is generally unheard of in other Midwestern cities.

But wait, didn't someone say that there were ONLY chain restaurants in the suburbs?

NO.

No one said that.

Obviously not every restaurant can be a chain, I mean, that part is logical. But, it's constantly implied on this forum that suburban DSM is chain-restaurant wasteland and you have to be in DSM proper or it's very hard to avoid this, which simply isn't true.

The reality is, the local restaurants with strong followings are in DSM proper (Formaro owned places and Fong's pizza). Those are the really the only places that matter. That's just how DSM is.

Hard not to chuckle when RJ starts off a sentence, "The reality is..." since he is clearly the one person out here that operates the furthest away from actual reality.

According to you, finding a non-chain restaurant in suburban DSM is some sort of extreme outlier, lol. Before you start playing semantics - I know you didn't say that in verbatim, but you constantly imply it.

You're that big of a cheerleader for DSM proper, it's impressive. Should make a run for mayor.

And once again we get the same-o same-o from same-o same-o. Broken record, boring posts.

The rest of us will move on to sensible posts about the DSM area and leave comparisons to Chicago, LA, NY, etx out of the conversation since that's only important to Ronnie "I can't spell my own name" Jonez.

Crawl back in your hole.

Edit: I apologize to everyone else for my rant, but I have zero tolerance for trolls.
