We're planning on moving to Denver area next summer and were curious if the homes/apartments came equipped with gas ranges for cooking. We had a gas range in Florida (of all places) and now in NC it's electric again. It's a huge selling point for us because I love to cook and miss gas. So, is it popular?

Electric seems to be pretty common.

You see both. Most of the people I know prefer gas.

It totally depends on where you buy or rent. You'd almost have to check each place individually.

Why do a lot of houses have gas heat and hot water but electric cooking and clothes dryers?

Most houses I am familiar with (including the two we've owned and the two we rented) are heated with gas. I don't know about apts.

I've noticed that too. A few apartments ago there was gas dryer and gas heater but electric range. Just a tease

Might have to look at renting a house then.

I guess it's easier to hook up with electric.
