Yep, I've had the pleasure. Hopefully soon I'll have another scouting trip to find an apt.

One thing I really love about the city is the international feel. I get to practice my Spanish so much more than here.

I lived in Mexico for about 16 years (i'm 19) and just moved to the city about 6 months ago. I've been in school for about 1 month (i moved earlier to try and get a job but that didn't work out), i don't really hang out with anybody aside from my cousins and my brother so yeah it gets pretty lonley here. But this thread is what i needed someone to tell me, i DID move here with very high expectations, so after months of not doing anything it really got kinda depressing here. But i know now that with time things will change and hopefully in another 6 months i'll be in a completley different state of mind than i am right now, hopefully!

Good luck, WTME! Don't forget to keep in touch with all of your Denver CD friends when you get down there.

Default wtme....

You will enjoy living in Miami I think. It is very beautiful there, the beaches and has tons of life milling about.

Florida is not for everyone....for instance we can't wait to leave...but when we tell others here in our community/friends/family that we want to move to CO, they are like 'why??? it's cold there?!' and 'oh, I'd never leave FL, we love it here......'

So, see? Perfect example of why FL nor CO nor any other state-is for everyone!

Downtownnola: Thanks so much for your well wishes. Denver will be blessed with my presence for awhile though, as I'm waiting on my husband to finish his degree, and we need to be sure we have jobs, etc. lined up. oh yeah, and then sell that pesky house.

twowolves: Thank you too for your post. It is funny. Everyone here thinks I'm nuts. Oh well.

I don't think your nuts--you have stated many times that you are an ocean person, you prefer greenery,humidity...Florida sounds like a reasonable location for you...I got kind of sick of Colorado for a while ..having grown up here, I moved to a variety of states off and on since high school, military service, college I might have actually stayed in California had I not moved back here on a more permanent basis a few years back for a family crisis...It's been about a decade since I was in Miami, but at one time visited quite frequently...I love it when it's 80 degrees in winter and your driving down the coast accented by palm lined blvds..Something different is always good if you do it right, and enjoy new challenges..

See Scott, you've had all these experiences, esp. w/the military. I really haven't had those and am getting wayyy too old to not have any of them.

I know your not moving for a while, but it will be cool to hear about your future experiences in Miami or where ever you decide to move to...Your'e a really open minded person, so that will carry you far..I think your recent travels to South America will allow you to break into any US. city with ease..Something about being forced to adopt quickly to other cultures is a plus...As you know I was briefly stationed years ago in an anti American country--kind of makes you appreciate everywhere here in the US. reguardless of the state...

No kidding on that one Scott. A lot of people really don't know how hard things can be.
