Is there anyone that moved from San Jose, California to Denver? Would like to hear your views as I'm thinking of relocating to Denver. Have lived in San Jose for 10yrs and looking for a change. I'm a single guy in my late 30s and kinda looking forward to the outdoors, 4 seasons and lower cost of living in Denver. Thanks !!

I don't miss the traffic, the housing prices, the taxes...

Thanks....what about the lifestyle, are there enough things to do for entertainment, concerts, sporting events, etc.....I just wonder if I'll get too "bored" having spend my last 10 yrs here in Cali?

yea, sorry. we have none of those things -

no NFL team called the broncos.
no NBA team called the nuggets.
no MLB team called the rockies
no MLS team called the rapids
no lacrosse team called the outlaws.

no concert venues of any sort - paramount, Fillmore, red rocks, Coors amp...

we have no bars in downtown, lodo, or the suburbs - in fact it's a dry state. Coors Brewery in Golden complains very loudly that the beer they make here can't be sold here. The wineries in the state aren't as organized.

we have no beaches, the lakes and reservoirs in the state go from water to rocks - no sand. not even in the great sand dune park.

no mountains to climb, no parks to bike ride in, no movie theaters, no museums, no bowling alleys, no botanic gardens, no butterfly pavillion... anywhere to be found.

I think you just gave me a great idea

we used to live in San jose for 10 years (from 1992 to 2002), moving here last year. it's much better here imho. I think you'll find similar things to do (as listed above) but it's a tad more outdoorsy. The food is slightly less adventuresome, but then it wasn't exactly adventuresome in San jose either, you mostly had t drive a bit north to find that, lol. here, there's no SF or berkeley nearby. Housing prices are so cheap in comparison that you'll feel rich. it's a shocker and you'll wonder why you stayed in silicon valley, lol. Oh and everything is cheaper except for a few foods-gas, dental, medical, etc.

before you move, I have a few things I need from Ikea and trader joe's if you don't mind, pretty please!

San Jose versus Denver? There is no comparison.
