Hi I am relocating to downtown Denver from the Dallas sub's and i want to know if there are any areas I should avoid. I have a friend that lives in Denver and she told me to stay away from Federal, Coalfax, five points, Montbello, Federal heights and some parts of west denver. I was just wondering if she was rite and get some insite from other people. Thank you.

I made the move from Dallas to Denver...ended up renting in Arvada...I really do like this location. Close to 70 and close to the mountains than denver.

Not sure how much you are looking to spend? 150k in Dallas will buy so much more house than 150k in Denver though....

Well, she told you to stay away from a large part of the city plus some of the suburbs. All of the areas mentioned above have their good and not so good sections. You need to come out and take a look for yourself; it's the chemistry thing!

Your friend was right - South of downtown about 20+ minutes is very good. Close to hwy 470. I'm sure there are good places up north, but I live south and don't know too much up there.

Spider, so much depends on your profile...single or married? Kids? Are you interested in partying downtown or are you more quiet? Is it important for you to walk to coffee shop or restaurant or can you be a little farther away from commercial pockets?

That kind of thing...
