City Grille ... I'm not sure if it was just the day I was there but I'll never go back. The burgers were okay but not as well seasoned as I'd expect. The waitress was distracted .. it took 20+ min to get my check after I asked for it and the resturant wasnt close to packed.

Check out My brother's bar, corner of 15th and Platte. It's across from vitamin cottage. There is no sign out front, but it shares the building with Mona's.

Default my brother's bar

"My Brother's Bar" continues to have the best burgers in town. It's located near LoDo. It's next to REI on 15th. MBB is one of the oldest operating establishments in Denver. The history is amazing! The creamcheese and jalapeno burger is my favorite. It's casual, fun, and "classic", meaning they play classical music on the patio. It's a great patio. Enjoy!

Another place for "the best hamburger" is the Cherry Cricket (Duffy's), located on 2nd St., in Cherry Creek. It's a very "local" bar. This place gets wild on St. Patrick's Day! It's always busy and fun.

I'm 5th generation Denver so I think I can speak as a "local"! Have fun in Denver, in Colorado. It's a pleasure!

Yeah, My Brother's Bar is pretty good.....be sure to look for the Neal Casady (On The Road) letter reproduction they have there.
SmashBurger is also very good, although when I went the service was slow and the fries tasted like what you'd think generic ones from a grocery store would taste like: from a freezer and bland. For this reason I'm less than thrilled to go back. Definitely good burgers though.
Supposedly City Grille has the best cheeseburger in town, and it's definitely worth a try. Actually the whole place is pretty good.
Hamburger Mary's is also good but when I went the music was really loud and definitely NOT in the background. Worth another try.
I've been meaning to get to the Cherry Cricket for about 6 months now.....I hear it's great with those fries that are hand-cut pieces of potato with the peel still on- very great.

McDonald's fries, when they're on, are really good.

I recall a similar thread on this in the past.

For a chain, I used to like Good Times Burgers.

But I thought Jims Burger Haven was pretty good and Unique Burger near 72nd and Pecos had a pretty mean Pastrami burger; big patty, but thin.

The best burger we ever had was at the Arapahoe Park Race Track. You go out there and get your burger and put whatever you want on it; sauteed onions, jalapenos, etc.

Candlelight Tavern

They make Burgers for a few hours a day - mainly lunchtime - although they have been increasing the hours.

Good people as well.

Candlelight Tavern Bar & Grill Menu

Voted Best Burger in 5280 mag and really one of the best dive bars in the city.

(also notice burger prices!)
