I think that a large portion of that party politics highlight has come from Teacher's Unions, and the "old guard" that was displaced...

personally...

PS. you do realize that this thread is about the Board in Douglas County, and not Jefferson County, right?
As such, it is off topic here too...

I think his post works here. Jeffco and DougCo are a reflection of each other.

Geez! Castigated is a bit of an overstatement for what I wrote, which was a polite request to keep the issues facing the two school districts separate, so they could be discussed thoroughly without muddying the waters. You could have told me to pound sand. In any case, I deleted my post, and I sent five rep points your way. If you all want to discuss the districts concurrently, please feel free to disregard my previous request.

I was just pointing out that I had been "specifically reprimanded" for a similar natured post crossign district lines...

I'm OK with seeking clarity and having multiple threads for subtle or not so subtle differentiations...
Who am I to tell you to pound sand? I also deleted my post, per your more than reasonable request...

So, school has started. Parents have paid fee upon fee for what is supposed to be a free public education. Book fees, materials fees, assessment fees, bus fees... The supply lists included reams of copy paper. Now parents are being asked to print homework sheets at home. They are being asked to buy text books. Kids have been crammed into overloaded buses, or even left and told to walk because there is no room.

This is all straight out of the ALEC playbook. Our schools are being starved so privatization can be justified. This is what life is like in the DCSD schools now. 8 years ago, they were some of the best in the state.
