I received a ticket after the posted time (meter said it was out of service at 10 PM.) I got the ticket at 11 PM and tried to dispute it via a form, but they are still saying I need to pay. Is this correct? Are you still supposed to pay after the ending time but a smaller amount for the meter? I am unsure on this

What is the exact language on the meter about 10pm? It could be 2 hours limit up until 10pm.

Was this in downtown Denver? If so yes. They changed the policy a few years ago to allow for paid overnight street parking (and in theory less drunk driving). The policy is still much more confusing than it needs to be, but I am surprised they haven't posted the correct policy on the meter.

Yeah it was downtown. It read something similar to "This meter operates from 8-10 PM" but apparently I am reading a few things on the new additions where you are still supposed to pay after that. Which is why they didn't accept my dispute.

This Westword article may help explain the issue. If the photo in the article is still current, no wonder people are confused.

Thanks, that helps, and yes that is what some downtown meters look like. Guess I have to pay up. Even when I DD it is still cheaper to get an Uber it looks like...

That article helps clarify, but the "you have to move your car if you parked before 10 pm" thing is just stupid. Because yeah, it's not all possible someone could be home for the night before 10 pm.

Are they all like this? I guess we got lucky staying in Cap Hill last week, didn't pay after 10pm all week but no tickets!

Totally did not see any of those new stickers, though we were using 5 hour meters exclusively around 9th and Grant. Will have to check next time if the 5 hour ones are free at night then or if we just got lucky
