Hi all-

I have a four hour layover and plan to use the time to visit a potential job. I understand that the area I'm going to is about 45-1 hour driving time with traffic. So I need to be quick, but I'm not sure I want to spring for the cost of a cab there and back (about 160). I'd rent a car, but that's going too take to long, traveling from point a to point b to get to the rental place.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

4 hours to get off the plane, get to the terminal, shuttle to the rental car place, rent a car, drive to the DTC, interview, return the car, shuttle back to the airport, go back through security and ride the train back to the gates?

ETA - ah...your edit makes much more sense. But, what else were you thinking? There is no "rapid transit" from the airport to the DTC. Super Shuttle maybe? Not sure how regularly they run.

Exactly, Macies - as opposed to get off the plane, get to the main terminal and hop in a taxi. In Centennial, Arapahoe Court, 2bin.

There is no cheap way to do this.

For about the same price as a cab, you can get an executive car service to take you there and back. You can do a google search for a company.

If it makes you feel any better, this would be considered a job search expense and it might be deductible on your taxes.

What if the interview runs longer ? Can you ask the airline for a longer layover ?

Send me the date and times in a DM - Maybe I can pickup & drop you back.

I think it will take longer to board the rental shuttle, get all the paperwork completed and then drive off - Returns might be a little faster, but again you have to account for the rental shuttle time as well.

If 225 traffic is an issue, take 470 - although it will cost more, at least you can predict the timings.

Is there a later flight you can get on ?
