I am relocating to Denver and thinking about living in a downtown neighborhood as I am 26 female and single. I am working in Parker and want to know if the commute is totally unrealistic? I will be working Monday through Thursday 8-6. Any advice about other fun living options? Thanks!

How much time in your working day do you consider "realistic" for a commute?

I'd not want to be in that traffic situation given the time or miles involved, but you might consider it worthwhile for your lifestyle concerns.

I guess I was expecting the commute to take an hour/hour and fifteen. Not sure if that's a reasonable estimate.

Another commute that would be considered torture. Where in Parker is the new job?

On the very north end of Parker...up by the hospital....torture eh? So much longer than an hour/ hour and a half?

Parker might be a little slower pace than you want, but Aurora or Centennial or the east part of Denver might work for you.

Her commute FROM Denver TO Parker would be hell? I don't think so, that's against the flow of traffic...

I think you'd be fine! An hour to an hour and fifteen minutes is over-estimating.

Yes. South on Uni to I- 25 through the Tech Center would be terrible. I-225 to I-25 wouldn't be any better. Going south on Parker Road, icky!

From Congress Park you would take Colorado Blvd to Leetsdale which turns into Parker Rd (aka CO-83) and goes all the way to Parker. The hospital the OP is talking about is right by E-470 & Parker Rd on the north side of Parker. No need to mess with I-25. It would definitely be a reverse commute. However due to all the stop and go traffic lights, I would estimate 30 each way minutes bare minimum, probably closer to 40-45 on average, and well over an hour on snow days.

Living in the Tech Center/Greenwood Village/Lone Tree might be a good compromise. There are a lot of young professionals there, and it's a good midway point splitting the distance between downtown and Parker.

Thanks for the input! I'm thinking about Washington park/west Washington park now and I've gotten alot of feedback saying its a pretty doable 30-45 minute commute most days.
