Hello Denver!

I finally have some days off coming up tomorrow and I want to take my wife and 2 year old son into the mountains for a day to go sledding and to have lunch and dinner at some cool mountain restaurants.

We don't want to go somewhere in town - we want the mountains! We are new here and due to my work schedule, have not had a chance to explore yet.

Does anyone have any ideas on a good place to pull over and go sledding? Or on some nice family restaurants up in the mountains?

Would prefer not to drive more than 2 hours from our home near Smoky Hill & E470, but any ideas are welcome!

Many thanks,
Daniel

Default Good Place(s) To Sled In The Mountains Outside Denver?

Hi,

I want to take my wife and two year old to the mountains tomorrow or Friday to have some fun in the snow. I would like to know if anyone knows of a fun slope that's out of the way somewhere up in the mountains. We live at Smoky Hill and E470 and would prefer not to travel longer than 2 hrs one way -- but we absolutely want to be in the mountains away from the DMA. Also, we are new here so we haven't had a chance to explore and don't know our way around outside Denver.

I also hope to have lunch or dinner at a nice family restaurant while we're up there.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Daniel

Thank you guys for the replies! Looks like we have great sledding in our very own front and back yards for the time being, so that will work too!!

LOL! We drove by our local "sled hill" yesterday, and found it very busy! As you've probably found, these things just pop up impromptu.
