Hello I am in the Air Force and got orders to Buckley and couldn't be more excited about it. I lived in Denver for a couple years about a decade ago and absolutely loved it. I was about 15 at the time. Ill be getting there middle of this summer and have started my apartment search. I've narrowed it down to a few places at a few different locations.

Rosemont Ridge and Greensview apartments in Lowry

Parliament Apartments where 225 and 25 meet near Cherry Creek Lake

Monterey Apartments near Marston Lake in Englewood

The Sanctuary at Tallyn's Reach and Broadstone Southlands in southeast Aurora outside of 470

I am wondering if some if you guys can tell me what kind of neighborhoods these places are and if anybody has any experience in one of the apartments I would love to know how it was. Pros and Cons would be nice for the different areas. Btw I am 25 year old male, love the outdoors, and not really into the club scene. I am looking forward to being back by the mountains! Thanks to all for your input!

There are some really nice & new apartments in central/east Aurora within a few miles' radius of Buckley AFB, such as City Lights, Bristol Village. The commute from the SE part of Aurora isn't too bad either, and there are several brand new apartments down there, but just so you know you're getting into strictly families with children territory down there. Might feel isolated being a 25y/o single.

It is wonderful to have you back. The Sanctuary at Tallyn's Reach is a very upscale community. Granite countertops, walk-in closets, garage included, fireplaces, access to hiking and biking trails. The whole 9 yards. It is close to Southlands mall where you could enjoy dining or catch a movie. It sounds like that would be fairly close to where you work and convenient access to E470. I moved back to this location from Denver and have really enjoyed it! I hope you do too.

Welcome back!

It has been a while but as I recall Parliament Apartments seemed nice - never ended up living there however. Also, the whole Lowry redevelopment there is amazing so all of the apartments in that area are newer though I am not sure about the ones you mentioned specifically. As vegaspilgrim mentioned there are several newer apartments in the Buckley area but also some places north of Illif have spotty reputations / more police activity.

Sounds like the second person works for The Sanctuary haha. Thanks to the other two for your help. It seems like most military bases have rundown neighborhoods built up around them...I wasn't sure if Buckley was the same.

I looked at the Parliament when I was apartment hunting last year. It's an older, but well kept complex, pretty decent overall. I did feel it was WAY overpriced considering what you're getting for the money. Parking is extremely tight, tons of the units (oddly enough, usually the ones that have availability) back right up to the I-25/225 freeway interchange, and FYI, may or may not even matter at all, but the place is a block away along Quincy from a city housing project with questionable characters moping around the parking lot at all times of the day and night.

Truth is, all apartment living sucks, it's always one problem or another-- you just have to pick your poison.
