Everytime I drive by this house on the NW corner of Bates and Clarkson in Englewood, I sigh with longing. It's the craziest looking thing, runs higgeldy-piggeldy for a whole block and looks like it was built in spurts, but it's so COOL, with stained glass and that random tower. Out of curiosity, I mapped that intersection in Zillow and got nothing -- a complete blank, no "Zestimate" of value, nada. This makes me curious, any Englehoodies in here who know anything about this random, excellent house?

Good luck getting comps when it comes time to sell.

I'm sure it's someone's dream home. : ) If you love it, knock on their door and tell them you might be interested in buying it when they decide to sell. What is the street address?

I love that house. It's really unique and the lot is HUGE! I'm guessing that it's someones dream house.

I'm guessing the reason why there is no zillow estimate is because it is a new build and whoever built it probably bought more then a few houses (since the lot is humongous) and scraped them to build this one.

Hard to say how old it is, since I'm betting it started as an older home and then got added on to over the years. It's been there as long as I've been in Englewood anyway, which is only five years, but I think it's probably been growing organically for quite a while.

Yeah, when you have a house like that, I don't think you worry about comps.

I just realized something looking at it again -- it's actually several houses added together! If you "walk" by it on street view you can see where there were perhaps three or four houses originally and they were added together with rooms and passages between. What an odd place, I wish they'd have an open house or something so I can see inside.

Compound possibly? I'd watch out for this coming under siege here soon.

Looks cool but out of my price range. Property taxes alone would be $7,635.73 .
