I am from Pittsburgh and recently accepted an internship in Denver, Colorado at 36 Steele St. It's a 3-month internship and I need to find an apartment for September. I know it might be tough to find a 3-month lease, but that's what I'm shooting for. I have heard Aurora might be my best bet to find an apartment. I was wondering if any locals or people familiar with the area could point me in the right direction with apartment complexes and where a good, somewhat inexpensive (yes, I am a college student) place to live would be.

Thanks in advance.

Have you tried Craigslist? There are a ton of listings for roomshares and temporary sublets.

I would look for a temporary sublet, but if you're in a jam, you can find leases for shorter than a year. I did a three-month lease at the Sonata at Cherry Creek (Cherry Creek S Drive at Dexter Street, approximately) when I first moved to Denver, but the rate for the 1-bedroom was a bit high.. but at the time I really needed a place. I paid $860/month for three months.
