As I was browsing the news an article brought this thread to mind. Looking for activities for the kids, here in Indian River School District we have the School of Performing Arts. It's a long article about a kid and his band an I am posting a link Justin Fisher: Prodigy on drums - By Ryan Mavity - CapeGazette.com - Covering Delaware's Cape Region - Inland Bays, Atlantic Ocean, Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Milton, Dewey Beach, USA
The school is toward the southern end of our district and would be more closer if your sister must go to Maryland for work.

Great article!!! Thanks so much for sharing!!! I will be checking the School of Performing Arts out as well...from what I've researched, the Indian River School District is top notch!!! As for my sister, it's been hard trying to find jobs in her field via the internet...so Maryland may be her only option. No matter what, I'll be at the beach!!!

Good morning! One question I forgot to ask is about the fees of renting in the various areas...it seems Lewes has a renter's tax...how much is it and how is it paid? What are the trash and sewer fees...how much are they... and how often are they collected? Just trying to get a sense of what to expect. Thanks in advance...you all have been awesome!!! Dee

When looking at properties I would ask if it is within town limits. Even within Lewes or Rehoboth zip code if you are not IN town you would not get city services. Not that that is bad but moving from a city you should know. Please do keep us up to date!!

Thanks Longnecker...you're a gem!!! I would not have known to ask this question!!! The realtor has a place in Angola...on Sandy Ridge Drive...new construction. Does anyone know about the area? As for services, I can tell you they lack sorely in Philly as well...but that may be relative (I don't have to take my trash to the landfill myself do I? lol...I'm being silly!!!). What type of services would be lacking Longnecker???

Should I post a separate thread for this question???

I also found out I can't have one realtor show me several different listings (unlike Philly I suppose), so now I have to contact several different realtors (at least that's what this young lady told me).

They don't multilist rentals that is why she told you that.If you were buying it would be a different story.
We have a poster on here living in Angola. He may be able to tell you more than I. If you do rent there it is close to my neighborhood and I can really fill you in on stores, Drs and so forth.
As far as city services go you will be protected by State Police not local. You will have to make a separate trash payment to a trash company. Water and sewer will not be through the town. And the BIG thing is you will not have city taxes figured in your rent. County taxes are all most nil. They make their money on property transfer taxes.

Thanks Longnecker!!! Great info!!! We are excited and yes, I'd need all the "buzz" on the best places to shop, docs, and the like. I just got off the phone with my sister and her apartment complex is letting her out of her lease early with just one month's rent (March) and her security deposit which was only $300 bucks!!! That clears the path for her...now the bad news...she'll be moving in with me until we move. LOL...not really bad, she's 2 blocks away and has practically moved in since my son passed. They won't leave me alone!!! HELP!!! I keep telling them I think they have me on a secret "suicide watch".lol I love those girls!!! Ok, I'm babbling again.

I do hope the person who lives in Angola will chime in...I believe I've seen a few of his posts in my readings. When I come back later, I'll look for his posts to see what I can find out.

Thanks a bunch!!!
