Hi everyone,
So we are excited about finally getting over to Delaware to check it out first hand. We will primarily be seeing alot of new home builders (anderson, handler, blenheim, etc.) and "cruising" the areas of Newark/MOT/Bear. We will also probably want to drive to Wilmington since we might be working there. I am looking for an ultra clean, nice (we aren't into the motel 6 type chains), family friendly hotel that is safe and not in the rough side of town. So far I have the Doubletree by Hilton Downtown Wilmington (which seems really far out), the Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Wilmington-Newark and the Hampton Inn in Middletown. The big requirement is an indoor pool so the girls can have some fun- at 2 and almost 4 years old house hunting will probably seem terribly boring, LOL. Can anyone recommend these or have feedback (good or bad?)

Also if anyone can throw in some recommendations for great food in a place that is family friendly- we would totally appreciate it!!

Thanks so much for any information you can provide. I am excited/nervous about our trip.

I haven't stayed in any of those particular hotels but I have had nothing but good experiences with Hampton Inn in general. Enjoy your visit!

When we were looking to relocate we always stayed at the Embassy Suites in Newark. It is attached to a TGI Fridays. It has a great continental breakfast/ Managers drinks at night. It also has a nice indoor pool. We live closer to Middletown, but it was the closest nice hotel in the area.

Good luck

We stayed at both of those places. We also stayed at the Hampton Inn & Suites right next to the Embassy Suites. The Holiday Inn Express was very updated inside. I would think the location would not be a nice for getting down to Middletown. The Embassy Suites was fine, nothing exciting but nice enough. The Hampton Inn & Suites was nice but it had a big indoor courtyard and the sound really traveled. Our room was tucked back so the noise was not much of an issue but if there was a loud wedding I can see that being a negative. But the staff was great there.
