GloryB,

yes and no with this one. You have to live far enough away from a base to "qualify" for it, and you have to go xx number of times a month, or they bump you from the program without telling you. I have heard a lot of mixed reviews about it. My husband is Navy, and we live like 17 miles from the base, but they dont offer daycare there, and the YMCA does. I have mixed feelings about the whole thing but ya know....you have to read all the fine print that goes along with it, like you do with anything that you get free with memberships and the military. I dont know if I still have the link, I will look for it though and try to post it soon.

Dont want to bust anyones bubble though....sorry

Gosh....if your husband drives all the way from Yulee to Mayport or NAS Jax....you should qualify for anything!

GloryB,

you'd think right? and yes he does drive from Yulee to Mayport 6 days a week, but then again, its only a 40 min drive, where we came from you could sit in your car in traffic for an hour and only go 5 miles, so honestly he doesnt mind it at all, thank goodness!!!! (cause we love where we live!)

But the problem is Kingsbay Naval Base is only "just up the road" about a 15 min drive. we are only 7 miles from the border of GA. So we dont qualify for anything, thanks to where we live.....BUT...they did shut down the health clinic up there, and my kids and I get to go to a local doctor here in town, so that is a plus, and dont have to drive to JAX.
