Hi, I was wondering if anyone tries to give away their cassettes somewhere on city-data. I like the freecycle idea, but that's a yahoo group, and I prefer city-data forums to yahoo (I don't think yahoo groups get a lot of attention). Since this forum goes nationwide, I realize either the taker or giver has to pay shipping.
So I am looking for the best website to try to give away my tapes, that the most people will look at. I just don't want to throw them away. If someone wants a bunch of them, maybe we could split the shipping cost.

A friend of mine in my neighborhood took his to the local Goodwill. At first he thought they wouldn't take them but was told people still buy them. It depends on the specific genre and artists, of course. I still play mine when I go camping.

I donate mine to Goodwill, too.

Before I retired, I started a cassette-tapes lending library at work. From 2000 to 2010, I bought over 5,000 books-on-tape, mostly fiction (Lee Child, Harlen Coben, Donald Westlake, James Grippano, Lawrence Block, etc). Good gosh, they were popular. I had to buy 7 large bookcases for my office to hold them all. When I retired, I didnt want to bring all of them home -- my house is too small -- so I also donated them to Goodwill, which was happy to take them.

Thanks...I wonder what Goodwill does with all of them, they can't all possibly sell. Yeah I could try craigslist but I don't know how many people see it. Was hoping to get nationwide attention lol.
