I said the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex is the number 1 destination in Texas, I got that from Dallas fun facts.

Dude, you dont get it. Weve been through this before. This list is biased toward tourism. It was dont by hotels.com. Business travelers tend to use corporate agents. I should know, I negotiate contracts for them. For gods sake this list puts Las Vegas ahead of Los Angeles for international vistors. For tourism, perhaps. But do you honestly believe for one second that Las Vegas is more important than Los Angeles or any other city on that list? Perhaps Anaheim is also a more important city that Houston?

Youre compareing cities only. When you look at the metro areas, there is so much more to Metro Dallas (even without Fort Worth) than just Dallas (about 3.2 million more without Fort Worth, with Fort Worth and its sub-MSA about 5.3 million more). There really isnt much more to Metro San Antonio than San Antonio itself (about 700,000 outside of San Antonio itself). There is no comparrison.

Spade said it right. There are two powerhouses in Texas, Houston and DFW. Thats it. Beyond defense, San Antonio is no powerhouse nor will it ever replace DFW or Houston or even join their league. Youre comparing cities only in an attempt to somehow make San Antonio look more important overall. It isnt. That shouldnt even be up for discussion.

San Antonio is more tourist oriented. I wish Dallas would take some notes on this one.

Does this mean Dallas is getting denser too? I hope so. The only way to go is up or south.

There is no San Antonio on either list, I'm not saying that San Antonio isn't a desirable place to visit for foreigners it's just that they go to the Big Texas cities first. San Antonio is a great city to visit, and the most historical out of all 6 of Texas's big cities. But think about it, to have foreign travelers, it's got to have a bigger airport than that first with more destinations. DFW and IAH qualify for that.

That's nice, but doesn't even compare to the amount of companies in and around Dallas.

I knew there was something wrong with this, so I looked at my own sources at work. This study seperated Dallas from Fort Worth. Therefore its hard to get an accurate reading on what its actually like. I think you left out Dallas in your list as it says 2.7% of its vistors are for overseas biz travel. Even then, that doesnt include the Fort Worth side of the Metroplex.

I don't see how San Antonio is not an internationally known city?? It is a top tourist destination and has the largest hispanic population in the country. There are also quite a few asians there as well. It also has an NBA team. The NBA has teams in Canada as well and San Antonio regularly plays them. San Antonio does need to make itself more well known to the world though, it is a beautiful city.
