I went to HS in Southlake and I went to Virginia Tech for my BS and MA. I'm in northern VA right now but I can't say I'm a fan of the place, I want to move back to Dallas area. I'm 27, not married and has no kids (I'm not even stuck in a lease, so I'm flexible).

The problem is I haven't seen many tech jobs in the area, or am I wrong? I'm a computer programming (C/C++, Java) looking for a junior position. I can also do web development stuff (jQuery/JSTL/HTML etc etc). What companies are in the area that I can apply to?

Hey, a fellow Dragon! There was a recent post about IT jobs somewhere on the Dallas forum. I don't know much or anything really about the industry but it probably will help if you are in TX. I would make the move first if you can, it will probably make it easier for you to get interviews, or if you have family in the area you can use their address? Maybe check out Telecom Corridor in Richardson, there are some big companies there.

from other posts the market in Dallas area is dragging for IT jobs--not lot of real openings--many job postings are supposedly just repeats or companies trolling for resumes if/when they do have openings...
and will turn a vacancy over to more than one headhunter so it will be posted/reposted ad nauseum on multiple boards...

if you don't have experience in work place--real experience--then chances of getting job interview are really cut down since most jobs ask for at least 2 yrs vs college hire even MS degree...
lots of jobs are contract jobs vs permanent as well

So there aren't many tech jobs in the entire Dallas area? God this sucks.
