Dalas is huge! Do you want to drive an hour to get to church? "Good sound doctrine" is not very specific, either. If you can be a little more specific about area and what you are looking for, Baptist, Methodist, non-denominational, etc., people can offer you better advice.

Check out Believer's Chapel-non denominational Bible Church with it's main strength being sound doctrine with the goal of nothing being added to the scriptures. I love it ofcourse because I go there, but that's important right? Located off of Churchill way in between Preston and Hillcrest.

As Southern Belle said, there are a myriad of good churches in Dallas depending on what you are looking for. We really don't know what YOU consider "good sound doctrine." Here is a very short list of what I would call Bible-believing churches that I feel like I could endorse. There are many, many others, however. I have tried to think of some from several different areas of the metroplex.

For starters I would suggest~ (The following are what I would consider "non-denominational," Bible-believing churches.)

Trinity Church ~ Dallas (relatively close to downtown/uptown) www.trinitydallas.com
Hillcrest Church~ Dallas (north Dallas area) www.hillcrestchurch.org
Sojourn Church~ Carrollton www.sojournchurch.org

Community Life Church~ McKinney www.clcfamily.com
Covenant Church~ McKinney www.covenantmckinney.org
Covenant Church~ Carrollton www.covenantchurch.org
Gateway Church ~ Southlake www.gatewaypeople.com

Destiny Christian Center~ Mesquite www.destinyhealingcenter.com
Higher Ground Church~ Mesquite www.highergc.org
Southwest Harvest Church~ Duncanville www.swharvestchurch.org
Trinity Church~ Cedarville www.trinitychurch.org

MUST try Irving Bible Church. If by sound doctrine you mean, teaches the bible. It's an amazing community! Its a large church but dont be turned off, as the worship is truly intimate feeling and the teaching is always spot on.

People have different ideas on what constitutes a good church. I'm a Unitarian, so I wouldn't find a home in biblical literalist church. However I know many are much different in that regard.

Also what part of town are you looking? You may have noticed Dallas has an over abundance of churches.
