I'm looking for an older apartment in Dallas...the first complex I ever lived in was very small, built in the 1940's, and I really miss its charm. I also miss the concrete floors and window units, which made for a very well-insulated apartment! Currently I live in a "newer, shinier" place and I can hear all of my neighbors...all the time. I need to find a place with better construction.

Lots of places like that all around East Dallas / Lakewood. Some nice ones right behind San Francisco Rose on Marquita and some along McCommas. Drive down Oram, La Vista, Lewis between Matilda and Skillman - also some around Lower Greenville area west of Greenville, Willis etc. some over by Henderson as well..

There's oldish apartments on Abbott, where Knox ends. They would back up to the Katy Trail. And I'd suggest looking at the three streets in north Oak Lawn > Hawthorne, Prescott and Herschel. They have old apartments, multi- and du- plexes. Take pencil/paper to write down phone numbers.

You might try the Park Lane Apartments located near the intersection of Preston Road & Lovers Lane in Park Cities. Built in the 1940's with hardwood floors, etc.
