The company I got my car insurance through (Farm Bureau) just sent me a bill for a $40 membership which was not discussed when I got my insurance. I just called them and they said they waived it the first time when I signed up with them a year ago. I'm looking to move on from them now because of this.

Can anyone here recommend a good company to use? Please only refer someone who has good prices and doesn't raise rates when they feel like it. Before we went with farm bureau we checked with 3 other places and and farm bureau had the best prices hands down.

If you have real good rates please post the company name and number. We are looking for car and homeowners insurance.

Call Allstate directly. Another advantage is that if you move, you just tell them the new address and all your coverage transfers with you. I have had them for maybe 20 yrs in 3 different states and have had no problems whatsoever. When a drunk driver totaled my car, I had a check for what I thought (based on dealer's NADA/blue book comps) was a very fair price.

I love State Farm. Had them in WA & my boyfriend wrecked my car & they paid for it without hassle. The collision place even told me they love to work with State Farm b/c they're easy to deal with. They always gave me the lowest rate as well. I got kicked off b/c my boyfriend was not on my insurance, so I was not happy about that (but they fixed the car anyway).

Fast forward 5 years, I'm in Dallas now & got to go with State Farm again...had it a little over a year, & my rate has only gone up $10 b/c I added renter's insurance! Good deal.

YES! Try Robert Dupuis (Info below). He's an independent agent and can get you killer deals!! I just switched carriers, received better coverage with a stronger underwriter and he saved us over $3000 a year for our home and 2 autos.

No offense but I would never use State Farm. I have gotten prices from them several times and they are always high. They are good insurance company but they have high rates. They require you to be an excellent driver with nothing on your record and at the same time they give you high rates? No thanks.
