The Dallas Morning News this morning states Lake Highlands High School missed being in the Recognized category by two Hispanic dropouts.

Richardson as a district was rated Recognized last year as well. It has always done fairly well considering its size and demographics. It had more exemplary and Recognized schools this year, but lots of districts had more exemplary and recognized schools due to the Texas Projection Measure which allowed schools to say some kids passed TAKS when they really didn't because the schools projected those kids would pass it later on. That's a new thing and the complaints are it will water down the rankings.

The following schools in Richardson benefitted on their rankings due to the Texas Projection Measure:
Berkner High
Lake Highlands Freshman Center
Pearce High
Arapaho Classical Magnet
Forest Lane Academy
Forestridge Elem
Hamilton Parl Pacesetter Magnet
Lake Highlands Elem
Mark Twain Elem
MST Magnet
Northlake Elem
O'Henry Elem
Richardson Heights Elem
Richland Elem

Default School Raning List for All Dallas Areas

This list of school ratings for Richardson is very informative. I was curious if there is a way to get a list like this for all Dallas area schools. If so, please let me know how to access the list. Thank you!

2009 Accountability Rating System
Here's the TEA database for 2009. You have various ways to search for what you want. Site is pretty self explanatory.

This one is the search by district sub-page:

However, do not put much stock into rankings based on TAKS scores. They are and can be very misleading. A school can get exempted from their poor ranking by protesting it. There are several schools in so-called "better" areas that have done just that.

Then throw into account how they come to these rankings and a very small sub group of students can totally bomb a schools rankings. A sub group as small as 10 students can take school where 90% of the student body passed the TAKS tests w/ flying colors to "unrecognized" or such.
