Hi everyone,

I am in search of a good and honest car mechanic. I had the same car mechanic in Houston for 15 or more years and he was a wonderful mechanic in that he was honest and knew what he was doing. I recently relocated to Dallas and I am in search of a reputable car mechanic close to the downtown location. I keep my car in mint condition and need to find a good and reputable mechanic. Also if anyone out there knows of a reputable motorcycle shop where I can get the oil changed on my Yamaha v-star please point me that direction as well.

Thanks to all in advance!

It's been years since I've had experiences with these guys, but Trowell & Turner on Harry Hines always had a great rep back in the day.

Trowell and Reese, just SW of Mockingbird/HH. Best, most honest, most straightforward mechanics I've ever met in my life.

I assume the two Trowell shops are related (they are about a mile apart on HH). It is gratifying to hear he/they are consistently great.

I'm looking for a good car mechanic in the north Garland/Richardson area. Anyone have one they can recommend?

For Hondas there is Hondew. It's, uhhh, somewhere tucked in east of TI. AFAIK they only do Acura/Honda but are good people.

Default Hondew is an honest and excellent shop

Hondew is an honest and good business. My son was driving an Acura across country when it started to overheat (he thought) near Dallas. I found positive comments about Hondew on the web and called them. Even though it was almost 5:00, they brought in his car and determined that it was only AC condensation.

They could have taken advantage of my son or not dealt with his issue at all. Instead the tech found the problem, explained it to my son and sent him out without charging him anything. This shouldn't be unheard of but these days it is. I'm grateful for these guys and would recommend them to anyone

I have used Ralley in Richardson for years. Scott- the owner has always been honest and his people have done good work on my cars. Ralley is located in North Richardson close to the I-75 and Campbell intersection.
