Hi

My daughter is placed number 7 on the waiting list for 1st grade. Anyone has an experience with being on the waiting list and getting into the school. I would really like to know what are the chances for my daughter to get into the school. Appreciate all the responses. Thank you

I don't know about the waiting list, but #7 on the waiting list doesn't sound too bad. I've heard that it is a wonderful school and people drive from all over so their kids can go there. Hope she gets in!!

Funny you asked. My son was number 7 on the waiting list for the 08/09 school year. I was certain he wouldn't get in. We've been trying for 3 years. To my surprise, he was called last June for enrollment. If you don't get in this time around, keep trying. My daughter is on the waiting list and we are quite hopeful that she'll get in for the 09/10 school year.Best of luck to you.

Hi Thanks for the encouraging wish, but doesnt ur daughter get priority enrollment for siblings. Also which grade did your son get into last year? Is your daughter in the first grade waiting list?

Thanks for all the info, good luck to your daughter to get in.

Yes, once you have one child in the school, your other children are placed on the sibling waiting list - that has priority over the "general" waiting list. I think it's more difficult to get admitted in the primary years, but don't stop trying.

maybe the economy is having effect on schools like this--
people losing jobs, can't afford to drive too far, being transferred to keep a job...
always some up side to almost any negative...

They say she has moved to number 2 on the waiting list, still hoping for the best. Just like how love2read pointed out, i am just hoping people move to a different city or dont take up the position :-)

Looking into potential schools...what good things have you heard? What makes it such a popular school?
