I'm currently living in Benbrook, TX and got a job offer on FAA Blvd, Fort Worth and the commute time is horrible. Can someone please advise me which city might be better for me to relocate my family to? I'm currently looking at North Richland Hills and Grapevine area.

Can anyone help?

currently live on Addison/Dallas line and work in One Main Place downtown.
7:50am:
Drive down Monfort to Spring Valley. Take that to the Redline south- 15 minutes
Redline to Akard- about 40 minutes
one and half block walk-enough time to smoke a cig

Belt Line & Floyd to 75 & Mockingbird (nearest major intersections):

12-15 minutes average at 7-7:10 am.

Reverse:

20-30 minutes average at about 4:15-4:20 pm.

Does anyone know what's the commute from Addison (closer to Far North Dallas-Frankford and NDT) to McKinney?

I am looking to relocate to Dallas, my office would be in Addison. What is the commute to Plano like? Also, what are the peak traffic times on the tollway?

Default Commute from Downtown to Coppell

Hi all,

I moved to Dallas about 6 months ago, and everyone here was really helpful. I initially settled on Addison because it was fairly close to work and there was some things to do, but now I'm itching to move to a more eclectic area closer to nightlife. These are the kind of neighborhoods I lived in before I moved to Dallas, but I was discouraged by a couple people when I first got here due to commutes, but I've talked to co-workers who live close to downtown and they say the commute isn't bad. I'm looking at a place near the Dallas farmer's market and considering moving. It's close to 35 so the best commute looks like north on 35 and then west on 635 (this portion of 635 is pretty clear when I go on it via George Bush sometimes on my current morning commute). Does anyone know what this commute would be like? I hear 35 is pretty smooth going north in the morning but have yet to try it. I may try making that drive this week but thought I'd ask for an opinion here.

Thanks,

Tom

I'd guess about 30 minutes. I do Uptown to Las Colinas sometimes and it's about 15-18 minutes. You're talking about neighborhoods a few minutes further south and Coppell is another 10 minutes north/northwest so 30 sounds about right. 35 is not bad in the morning. It can be in the afternoon though.

I'd recommend moving- life is too short to live in Addison!!

If it weren't for the 635 traffic, I'd say go for it, but I have no idea how that construction will affect anything. We're moving in a few months to make sure our commutes are not dependent on 635 because I think it is going to be unbearable for the next 5-7 years.
