Hi all,
We're considering buying a house that has good "bones," but needs quite a bit of updating. If we purchased it, I'd like to do some major renovations, which would include changing out the current staircase and replacing it with a curved one. (Other jobs will include refacing kitchen cabinets, changing countertops and revamping the look of the fireplace.) If you've successfully worked with someone (architect/general contractor) to do some major home renovations, I'd love to know what your experience was. Before we make the offer, I'd like to get a professional opinion about what we can and cannot do as well as a very basic estimate. The home is in McKinney, so I'm looking for someone who would be able to visit the site easily. Thanks so much!

Contact David Ludwick, an architect in Dallas who specializes in just your sort of project. You'll be in very good hands. I've known Dave for over 30 years and can recommend him without reservations.
