For what? Last I knew there was not really a whole lot to do. Maybe take a small tour or something. They have the "barn" for functions and such and I have been to many there and it was nice. If you have never driven by it the house is not near as large as you would expect. Sounds like the best thing they have for the kids may be the Chuckwagon Dinner but the stories about JR and the show may go well over their heads.

Didn't they use a wideangle lens to film the place ? I drove by there and it was WAY smaller than it appeared in the opening shots of the show.

I have driven by before. It is not too far from where I am at, I just have not been in it. I just didn't know if it was worth the trip or price with kids.

I can be there in 5 minutes flat. LOL!!!! Or less if I don't get the one red light or behind a creeper on these back roads.

It is in Murphy on Murphy Road.
From their website (www.southfork.com): (broken link)
Driving Directions:

To get to Southfork, take US Highway 75/Central Expressway North to Exit #30, Parker Road. Take a right and travel east on Parker Road for approximately 5.5 miles. You will reach the intersection of FM 2551 South (also known as Hogge Road or Murphy Road), where you'll take a right. The entrance to Southfork will be immediately on your left.

Address:
3700 Hogge Road, Parker, TX 75002

Approximate Drive Times:
Galleria: 25 minutes
Dallas: 35 - 40 minutes
DFW Airport: 45 - 55 minutes
Richardson: 10 - 15 minutes
Ft. Worth: 75 minutes
Love Field: 35 minutes
Plano Centre: 5 - 10 minutes

Default south fork

It's not for kids...they'd be incredibly bored.
