Looking to move to DFW this year. Budget is 500k or so for a home in a safe area. Where is the best city to get a 3 car garage, 3k+sqft aka most bang for my buck. I dont want to be in the middle of nowhere, but also dont want crazy traffic. I dont care about the school district and would rather pay less taxes because of it (I have no kids). I saw Saginaw, Sachse, little elm, had decent homes. Im coming to visit next month and ill go check out your recommendations. Thanks again

Curious question, why are you moving here ?

BTW, Saginaw and Sachse are not even close, 2 totally different areas opposite sides of DFW

Florida weather is blazing hot all the time and housing sucks. I work from home so im open to anywhere in the area, visited in 2021 and I liked Flower mound, southlake etc but slightly out of my budget.

You realize that summers in DFW are hotter than probably all of Florida, right? It's a bit less humid, but significantly hotter. I couldn't imagine moving to DFW to escape the heat. There were 47 days over 100 last summer.

DFW is much better than ANY part of FL for temperature. It's a LOT less humid and that makes all the difference. If he were wanting to move to Houston, that's probably a wash. But DFW is hands down better temperature due to less humidity.

OP, I've lived in Jacksonville and Tampa. Once you've lived a few years in FL, you'll love a summer in DFW in comparison. From the choices you listed, I'd pick Little Elm, but I think you should put McKinney on your list as well... Little Elm there's really just one road in/out, and that's 423. With McKinney, there's a lot of access roads to move around the metroplex.

Here’s one in Arlington’s Martin High School feeder zone…. That’s the preferred school zone in AISD

You do get four seasons weather wise, and in fact you can get all four every couple of weeks from about October through April.

If you actually mean four seasons in their time, I suggest looking elsewhere. You're also going to get bad traffic wherever you go, if not right away then in the near future.

Many Little Elm neighborhoods have multiple roads for access; only those along 380 and one of the peninsulas will leave you stranded. It's got a relatively small land area though. McKinney has a massive (and growing) land area, so of course it has more roads and neighborhoods that span a larger range of prices. However, it's inevitable the traffic will get a lot worse in both cities given the current development.

You mention Saginaw, and others are already bringing up spots that are better left to the Fort Worth forum. You will get more house for your money on the Fort Worth side. The tax rates tend to be higher, but you compensate with lower home prices. If you don't mind driving the Texas rollercoasters, then you might start there.
