Plano central: very normal, middle class, any town USA type suburb. The northern area here is heavily Indian. Good public high school; I think the quality of some of the other schools can vary quite a bit.

The Colony: one or two nice areas and lots of rougher ones. Has started to become very developed with new restaurants, shopping centers etc.

Denton: not a suburb in any way. Independent city that’s very eclectic and has lots of college students due to UNT. Has a slight Austin-like vibe, minus the outdoorsy-ness. Zero idea about the schools here.

Allen East: Allen as a whole is also very much middle class and suburban; Allen East has older houses and a bit less commercial development. Feeds into Allen high school, the district’s single high school which is pretty strong. Allen is also a football powerhouse, and people here are obsessed with it.

Murphy: country-ish. Bigger lots and big-ish houses, which come at the expense of not having much around. I believe that Murphy feeds to various different school districts.

Dallas proper: this particular area is mostly very nice (there are some houses here that are probably approaching $10M), with the added proximity of not being too far from downtown compared to others from the list. Very heavily Jewish. Feeds into Plano ISD in some areas and Dallas in others, the latter of which I wouldn’t vouch for.

Lewisville: rougher far-out suburb.

Rowlett: normal, middle class far out suburb.

Not sure how I would “rank” these without knowing what criteria to rank them on. I would be shocked if someone was considering these places to live since they vary tremendously in terms of location. For me personally, Dallas proper would win hands down, followed by Pano central and distantly by Murphy or Allen. Wouldn’t consider the others due to location (Rowlett, Denton, Lewisville) or quality (Lewisville, the Colony).

That’s a huge swath of land. What sort of criteria are you looking for?

This area can also be RISD. Also, it's probably more Jewish than most other areas, but I wouldn't say that the majority are Jewish.

True. Should have phrased that differently
