Hello,

I am moving to Duncanville, to the High School area, I have lived in Austin and Houston before. What should I expect there? Some people say it is very bad, others say it is not as bad as it sounds.

How is public transportation?

Thanks.

If youve lived in Houston, I would say it would be most comparable to a place like Baytown though not as far from downtown as Duncanville is from Downtown Dallas.

Yes, I lived right downtown Houston, so crime-wise, it is comparable to Houston?

Also, how is public transportation?

If you need public transit, you’d be better off living in Dallas than in a suburb.

There is one bus route that goes out to Duncanville (see link below). I recommend going to DART’s website to find more information.

Its a fine .. it doesn't have a reputation of bad crime. Truthfully, it doesn't have much of a reputation at all. (In my world at least). I wouldn't be worried about crime..I'd personally be more bored out there unless you have a family and like that world.

It definitely won't have much public transportation options. I don't think the Dallas Area Rapid Transport (DART) goes out there.

It is a very diverse suburb.

Duncanville is a decent inner-ring southern suburb of Dallas. Overall a pretty low-key, diverse community. It isn't high crime, unsafe, or a place to avoid.

Duncanville is a close in old burb of Dallas, about 70% minority with 16% below the poverty level. Not noted as particularly high crime. You should have a car or perhaps an electric bike/scooter/cycle if you live in a burb.
