Any information on New Tech High school. My kid is going to start high school in new school year. Trying to see which one is better option.

I've lived in Coppell for 27 years, had triplets, and one of my daughters went to New Tech, the other daughter and son went to CHS. They are both great schools, but New Tech is better if you have a child who would prefer a smaller classroom, fewer kids, more personal attention. It's just a smaller school. My New Tech girl went to UT Austin and is living in Manhattan enjoying a very successful career. My CHS kids went to A&M and U of Arkansas. All are doing well.

It depends on the child's personality more than anything.

As far as registering for New Tech, parents actually camp out to get in line to get their child in there. I spent a couple of nights out in freezing weather waiting in line. Luckily, it was a party atmosphere and we had food, tents, TVs, etc. Be prepared for that. Two neighbors, both husbands of friends, invited me to stay in their heated tent, which helped. I jokingly told the school I had slept with 2 men to get my child into New Tech.

I don't know much about it, but in retrospect I wish we had considered it more thoroughly.
