Looking for a house in the Sachse/Murphy/Parker/Lucas area an acre or more for $550k or less that allows chickens and a goat. Does this exist??? All the new builds on acre lots don't allow farm animals. What's the point of having an acre if you can't do anything with?

How large of a house are you looking for? Any special aspects you need in the house? What is the largest size parcel you would want even if it can be had for your amount or less?

If house isn’t in an HOA subdivision then it’s pretty much up to you. You can do whatever you want.

Unfortunately each of the cities mentioned by the OP do have fairly stringent rules regarding both domesticated pets as well as any farm animals (livestock, fowl, etc.). With a property of one acre it might be difficult to meet the City Code Of Ordinance for having other than domesticated pets. One example are the distances from the residential structure that the livestock, etc., stables/pens/etc. must be. Depending on the property boundaries this might not be feasible. The OP should go to each of these city sites and read their code of ordinances regarding this. The OP should also be careful if the property is on a septic system as there are rules there that might affect the usability of the property for their purpose. Then when looking for property they can ensure the property is sufficient to meet any requirements.

BTW the OP also is wanting to raise chickens which can create even some noise (not talking roosters). Some of the cities also have noise ordinances for any animal on the property. There are also various requirements for keeping the property clean and sanitary and cities do specify waster removal requirements. The OP is possibly better served by looking more towards more rural areas if they want to do this.

That's not accurate. There are still city ordinances to contend with.

You are right but that’s obviously the first step, if she is narrowing down to these towns and talking about subdivisions then she must’ve confirmed city ordinances.

She mentioned acre plus lots so she obviously knows about lot size limit but yeah there are other factors though her issue seems to be with new subdivision rules.
