Hi all - if you want a laugh on what NJ thinks of Texas, click here:

https://www.city-data.com/forum/new-j...l#post46836907

In summary, as evident that it's the most densely populated state, it's a great investment to buy a home because everyone wants to live there (LOL!!), and NJ pays the highest taxes in the nation because the services received such as schooling attracts the best teachers, especially better than, of all places, the northern Dallas suburbs. (LOL!!!). I kid you not, look for yourself.

LOL

If you feel the thread is inappropriate why not report it to Administration/Moderators so they can review it than make a decision according to the TOS on this site?

Not inappropriate at all. It's just a great laugh to read about what people who've never been to Texas think about Texas, especially people praising NJ's highest in the nation taxes as a good thing while simultaneously bashing Texas.

I'm an NJer hopefully moving to TX soon. One of the main reasons is the insanely high taxes. I can confirm that most of NJ is full of smug, progressive, NIMBY, liberal, trash.

I'm about as conservative as they come, but I object to the "liberal trash" descriptor. There are millions and millions of liberals in this country who are good people who just happen to be misguided.

You missed a comma.

"liberal, trash".

Not in NJ. It's beyond screwed. So many people are moving out because of the high taxes. The only people remaining are the moochers who never paid a dime anyway. Lots of huge drug issues too and gangs. Cities like Trenton lay off hundreds of cops and things just get worse.

Also, nothing is being done because Christie has his hands tied by the state legislature which has been ultra liberal for decades. Self defense doesn't exist in NJ either. The libs don't do anything because they live in gated communities in the nothern part of the state (lots of NY transplants) or just hang out in Princeton.

There are plenty of awful teachers everywhere. It's a really poorly paid and poorly respected job. You think districts like Plano and HP do well because they are full of great teachers? Nope, it's really just demographics at work for the most part. NJ is the same. It's wealthier than Texas, but probably similar to some of the wealthier suburbs of Dallas. There are teachers both good and bad. The good teachers in Texas are underpaid and completely disrespected. The bad teachers in NJ are overpaid. Neither place has it exactly right but by all means, be as smug as you'd like about it.
