I currently use Virgin Mobile (Sprint network) and I find that while in some places I get 4G (work mainly), there are plenty of places around the metroplex where I get no coverage at all. Does Sprint not care as much about other large metros. By "other" I mean other than Johnson County, KS, where they are based, and where I grew up and got relatively better coverage.

My question is, is T-Mobile coverage any better here in the dee-eff-dub compared to Sprint network? I live on the first floor of a luxury apartment that faces a pool, and currently get slow 3G at home. I noticed T-Mobile has 70 a month (no-contract?) unthrottled data.

Do you have internet at home? If so, why not just hook up a WAP?

I do not have any other form of internet at home. That's kind of the point. That said, is AT&T u-verse crazy expensive to set up? It's the only cable internet where I live.

Yes, for some odd reason U-Verse is one of (if not the) most expensive services.

They are usually running some kind of new customer gift card. I got $100 after the first month. I didn't think the setup was expensive but I don't remember what it was. U-Verse, that is.
