I will be there for just a day and never been before. I am looking for a good place to have brisket...never had it before and watched too many shows talking about it.

If you can roughly give me some direction on where its at, that is great!

Thanks!

Sonny Bryans

I have always heard this is the best place. You should be able to map it from where you are staying. Have some for me while your there.

I don't think there is a GOOD BBQ place in Dallas--

It depends upon the location and the day... it will vary. Usually pretty good at Sonny Bryans on Inwood, Dickies on 75 at Henderson, and various others.

Only the original location for Sonny Bryan's on Inwood is worth the trip.

There are PLENTY of other places w/ good bbq and brisket but they are not your chains. Finding the hole in the walls is the best. There is a new place out close to the airport (DFW) on LBJ called something 8 or 8 something that is set up like Coopers in Llano (now THAT is some good bbq). You can find really good bbq in Dallas just not at the chains.

If you are going to be in Downtown or close by in Uptown, stop in at: Sammy's BAR-B-Q Family Owned Dallas, Texas you can sit outside and gaze at the construction boom all around..

Rudy's has the best that I have had so far, but I haven't had the chance to sample many places so far. The great thing about Rudy's is that you can get it lean or fat... get fat if you want it nice and moist and don't mind a little fat.

I like Sonny Bryans as well. I heard Rudy's in Austin was good but the one around here wasn't that great. I need to venture up there to try it out.

Mike Anderson's BBQ on Harry Hines across from Parkland isn't too bad. I like it better than Sammy's.

I've got to agree that the only Sonny Bryan's worth the trip is the original on Inwood. Sammy's in Uptown is also decent. Peggy Sue's BBQ in Snider Plaza is also pretty good.
