Does anyone know anything about the zillion square feet of shopping they're building Allen between Exchange and Stacy, like what shops are going to be there?

Probably the same kind that you will find at any other Shopping Center in the area.....They shouldnt even name them anymore with fancy names...just numbers......because they are mostly the same thing they build down the road just a few months earlier.

Heres how a future town guide for its shopping would look like.

Shopping Center #10 / corner of 1st and Ave A.
Dillards
Macys
8 Starbucks
30 screen Theatre
Wal Mart Supercenter
5 McDonalds
Old Navy
Barnes & Noble

Shopping Center #11 / corner of 2nd St & Ave B

Same as Shopping Center #10 , But we have an "upscale WalMart"

Shopping Center #12 / corner 1st St & Ave C.

Same as #11 but Our McDonalds are also "Upscale"

SOUNDS PRETTY HOMOGENIZED HUH???? WELCOME TO DALLAS & AMERICAN RETAIL IN 2007.

And shopping center #13 has a Super Target instead of a Walmart and a Petco and Babies R Us instead of Dillards and Macys

I'm also interested in what it's going to be called; every time I go past it I can't read the sign because the writing is too small and I'm going too fast.

The name of the shopping area will be called "The Villages of Allen" Across the street on Stacy, that shopping center will be called "The Villages of Fairview".

Here are the details >>> The Village at Allen :|: The MGHerring Group (http://www.cityofallen.org/parks/AUSA%20Sponsors%2007/The%20Village%20at%20Allen%20%20The%20MGHerring%20 Group.htm - broken link)

FYI:

These locations are actually built to accept light rail and have a residential component along with the retail, restaurant, hotel and office components. It's a mixed use concept, even if it is light on the residential side of things.
