We are considering moving to Frisco, and I am narrowing down the possibilities based on the schools my kids will attend. I know they are often rezoned, which does worry me, but for the time being I am trying to nail down the most desirable schools.

I know that practically all the schools in Frisco ISD have exemplary academic ratings. The problem I'm having is after reading some parent reviews on GreatSchools.org I am extremely worried about the environment of many of them.

Have any of you had experiences with any of the Frisco public middle schools or high schools? Any suggestions on ones to check out, or ones to avoid? I don't want a snobby environment, I don't want rampant bullying where administrators have no procedures in place to control it, and I don't want teachers who belittle students instead of building them up.

I want a friendly school where the teachers genuinely care, where the academics are challenging and go beyond state test requirements, and where sports and activities are offered as well.

Please help!

Just buy the house in Frisco that fits your family the best and stop worrying. All of the Frisco schools are excellent. It's not like your child will be condemned to a life of stripping or drug dealing because you picked the wrong Frisco ISD school when you moved here.

That last sentence applies to most threads on this board, come to think of it...

You should realize that most of these schools have exemplary academic ratings are because they ARE focused on state testing requirements. If your kids are AP they will be challenged, if they are not they will be challenged only to pass the tests.

They basically follow the one size fits all method of controlling the kids. If your kid is involved in bullying/fights both the agressor and the victim will suffer the same consequences.

Good luck with your search.

In general , while most schools in Frisco are good schools , the best one are in the southern part of the town. The best high school right now is Centennial follow closed by Liberty , Frisco High . All middle schools that feed into those high schools have very good reputation . My oldest went to Fowler and we loved it . My youngest will go to the new Vandeverter , with his entire school ,and by the way it has been handle so far, I do not worry about change . The last rezoning will be the last one for quite some time , but they had no choice with the new constructions over 121 and Independance .The politic of the district is to keep a smaller school structure which we as parents do appreciate .
I would not worry of any snob attitude among students ,, without any doubt people have money , not just in Frisco , but in all the surrounding cities in Collin County , but actually I have found that most kids are very much down to earth, very polite and well educated , nothing of the bratty attitude that people are talking about .It has been a real pleasure to volunteer in schools .
