We very recently moved to the Josey/Hebron area. I know I can (and have) googled restaurants in our area, but I want to hear your recommendations.

We're a family of four (middle-school age kids) and so far, we've tried Bon Mua, Nico's, Palio's, Mama's Daughter's Diner, and Le Peep. Well, we did eat lunch at Los Jalapenos, and really, the name should have been a clue. Awful.

Our family likes almost any kind of food, and we know there have to be some great spots out there! Any suggestions?

If you drive into Castle Hills, there are a couple of really good restaurants in the Village Shops:

Sushiwa - Sushi and Japanese
Lunada - Lunada Tex Mex Restaurant - Lewisville, Texas A brand new (just opened this month) Tex-Mex place that is owned by the original founder of Luna de Noche.

There's a Fuzzy's Taco on the southeast corner of Josey and Hebron. Also, a decent little hole in the wall Italian place at the northwest corner of Hebron and Old Denton.

Downtown Carrollton offers Babes and Agave Azul. Agave Azul is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in the Metroplex, and their service is consistently great.

Babes is fun and very relaxed environment. The menu is very simple, you have a choice between like 2-3 different meats including fried chicken, Chicken Fried Steak, and Pot Roast...I maybe missing something.

How about Joe's New York Style Pizza.
I think they are on the corner of Frankford at Josey.

"Carrollton Area" is really big.

Of those listed above, I like
Nico's (great for younger kids because it has a playground outside)
Lunada
Sushi Wa

Others in the area I also like:

Misto Bistro - cajun-ish at Rosemeade/Josey.
Marshall BBQ - Rosemeade/Josey
Chilli Thai - Rosemeade/Old Denton
Texas Road House - north side of 121 at Market Street
The Dinghy - on Lake Lewisville - literally, it's on a dock. Live music, outdoor with sunshades, people/boat watching
Cantina Laredo - Legacy/121 (good but $$$)
Kenny's Burger Joint - Legacy/121
Buffalo Wild Wings, west of Hebron/Midway
California Pizza Kitchen - Willow Bend Mall - accessible without going into mall from west Park (Hebron)

Wow, I logged on tonight, not expecting to see any more posts to my thread, and look what happened! You guys are so thoughtful!

I'm sorry if I was vague--chvelo is right, "Carrollton area" is really big. I just didn't want it to sound like I wouldn't leave my own neighborhood for a great restaurant. You have all been so helpful, and it will take us a while to eat our way through this list. My whole family thanks you!

@chvelo: Nico's has already become a favorite--and we've been here 2 1/2 weeks!
