Is the Southfork Ranch in Parker,Texas (east of Plano) where the TV series "Dallas" was filmed, worth the tour? How much?

No. The tour is about $15 per person. NONE of the buildings' interiors were used in filming and they are honestly unimpressive by today's standards. Drive by the gate, take your picture with the Southfork Ranch sign, and go do something else.

Yep, I went there back in 86 and it was quite a bit more grandiose back then. Now, there are plenty of homes I've seen that put it to shame.

A drive by is sufficient.

Southfork is Dallas's equivalent of Crazy Horse. Save your money and snap some pictures from the road on your way by.

If you are a big fan of the show and still watch the reruns, it might be appealing. They used the exterior for the filming and there are a lot of photos and memorabilia inside the home. There is also a mini museum inside. I would say that it's worth seeing one time and especially if you're from out of town.

I live VERY close to there. If you are a tv show "Dallas" geek, I join with the consensus here to do a drive by, maybe stop and take a picture from the outside, but that's it.
