Hello, im sure you guys get this all the time but I would appreciate your help. I am moving toTexas on June 8th, my budget is about 5-600 for a 2 bedroom which obviously wont get me the most fanciest apartment but I would just like to be somewhere safe and a nice school district. I am coming from PA and coming down to take the irving police exam and hopefully take a couple others, but I would like to live around the garland area. So any suggestions would help. And another question is what is a good TCLEOSE school??????

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

1. I have no ideas what a TCLEOSE school is.

2. You need to be more realistic with your housing budget. A 1 br apartment in a HORRIBLE part of town is going to be $500. You need to get up to $800-900 for a 2br before you'll see a safe neighborhood with a good school district.

3. Don't move unless you get a job offer.

Like TurtleCreek80 said, $500-600 will barely get you a decent 1 BR. There's NO way you're going to get a 2 BR in a good part of town on that budget.

And to address another part of your post -- A Garland-Irving commute would be AWFUL. Whatever you're not spending in rent will be spent on gas/possibly tolls.

People are just trying to warn you about one of the major mistakes that transplants make
they rent an apt based on their preconceived ideas of what they want and get job in area of town that is horrible comment
Garland is the eastern-most suburb in DFW--and you have to drive through/around Dallas to get anyplace to the west--
so unless you KNEW you are getting hired EAST of Dallas most people would say don't choose Garland (or any area really) before you know your job location
