According to Case-Schiller index, both Denver and Dallas are on pace to hit post-housing bust lows in the next few months. But again, RE is local so depending on where you buy will depend on how quickly it will rebound. Just consider areas that are further away from the Dallas metro area last on the list to rebound, since your values will be competing with newly built homes, towns etc.

I wouldn't wait until next year if you want to be in a popular neighborhood. Interest rates are fantastic for one thing..

You might wait until the summer's listings shake out and buy around Thanksgiving or Christmas - but then again you take a chance on rates.

Thats a good time. Not as many people looking so you could find some sellers willing to cut a great deal.

My opinion here. But honestly I think real estate in general throughout most of the country is overpriced (Texas included). Also with the job market the way it is a lot of people that used to make $150k to $300k a year will have to learn to live on $60k or $80k a year. So homes will be foreclosed on and prices will keep going down.....

I'm not making this up, it's my opinion but I see it happening to a lot of people last 3 years
