We used to go to Samuell Park and you could see Lakewood from one direction and Fair Park from the other...but they aren't on the same nights this year.
Park Cities does fireworks from the Dallas Country Club @ Preston & Beverly....definitely too far to see from Flag Pole Hill!

I know it's hard to see the Lakewood fireworks even from Hollywood Heights/ Santa Monica unless you're watching from Lindsley Park. Too many trees in the way!

In the old days Tom Thumb (locally owned by the Cullums with Jack Evans WW '40 as president - he was later mayor) sponsored the fireworks in the Cotton Bowl (for probably 30 years or more) -- if you got on the south side upper deck you could see many of the different shows around town.

Park, lounge, watch, enjoy « East Dallas Times

"Stake out a vantage point across the street at Whole Foods-Lakewood and partake of a few preliminaries to the main event.

The grocer offers its second annual Party in the Parking Lot from 5-10 p.m., July 4, at the Gaston Avenue-Abrams Road neighborhood location.

It includes a concert by the Hash Brown Blues Band from 5-8 p.m., plenty of food and drink — and if it’s akin to the Whole Foods spread during Lakewoodstock, it’s good eatin’ and cheap buyin’.

Parking in the lot, first-come first-served, is reserved for folks who shop the store, but lawn chairs and blankets — and the people lounging in and on them — are welcome in the open areas..."

Does anyone know if it is still possible to get a 2010 parade shirt? We forgot to pre-order ours as we usually do, so I'm not sure how to proceed. Our youngest is in love with the Lakewood Theater tower (we frequently have snack at the counter at Whole Foods and look at the tower) and will be crushed if he doesn't get a shirt this year!

Not the train. I think the closest station is Mockingbird Station and thats really far. You could take the train and then take a bus up to Whole Foods.

Take the train to Pearl Station downtown. Then walk like 2-3 blocks to the East Transfer station. Then take the Lakewood bus to Lakewood. It used to be numbered 23. If you've never been, just look for the town center looking area. Its unmistakeable. Should be a stop near Abrams.
