Good morning all.

Just one more week left until everyone has to go back to work. I'm already back at work this week (except for Thursday, of course). Kids will be coming back on Thursday, so I'm excited.

Everyone else enjoying the time off?

Breakfast was two bean/cheese breakfast burritos and 1/2 Coke.

Have a great day!

Good morning, Rath, Judi, Izzy, Diana, and anyone else visiting, maybe Jeannie.
I will be hitting the household job big time; daughter will be coming with her family Friday, January 2, 2009. That is the first time I have typed that year. We will be getting presents!

Very small piece of pecan pie I made Sunday afternoon. Is this just Monday. There is only 1/2 piece left. Mr. VA said we would not be having to go back to Savannah and paying $25 for a pie. Mine is just as good. It was so easy too. The secret that made it so good is that I used 2 cups of pecans instead of 1 1/4 cups and I did not chop the pecans at all.

Hey all. The holidays seem to make us lazy and not log on here very often.

Today was an awful day. It started pretty well but then we found a letter in the mail box from DH's company. Due to the bad situation at work he also lost his job. He still has some time (till Jan. 31st) but now all the looking for new job starts again. Poor boy. I was sooooooooo sad for him. I can't imagine to have to adjust to new suroundings/colleagues/tasks that often.
I hope that this situation will get better soon. Maybe he can trade with them to get at least some hours a week and stay on board of the company for a little while longer. Perhaps till the situation in my company is better. This is so not good news for the end of this year.

Had I known this I wouldn't have gone to the optician to get new glasses. I could pick them up today and they cost 470 USD. How come this always happens like that???

No breakfast today. Lunch was at the mall where I went with DS and my parents to give dad's presents back and get new ones (b/c the clothes he got from my mom didn't fit). I had a chicken sandwich, shared a small portion of fries with DS, sipped on a coke and had some icecream.

Dinner: 2 slices of bread topped with tomatoe and mozzarella cheese (baked in oven)
1 chicken leg.

Oh gosh, Diana... I'm so sorry for him and y'all! Well, we can hope the old adage holds true - "where a door closes, a window opens"!! Hopefully another opportunity will present itself for y'all.
